Our Fair Trade Statement
We observe of ethical standards for product sourcing and manufacturing
Mayer & Watt confirms that:
- All gems of a stated geographical origin do indeed originate from said geographic origins.
- Gemstone treatments and alterations are clearly disclosed at the time of sale.
- To the best of our knowledge, its products are not involved in funding terrorism or terrorist groups as identified by U.S. legal statutes, civil wars, human rights abuses, or criminal activities.
- We comply with all applicable US and local laws regarding labor practices, health & safety standards, environmental protection, anti-money laundering, corrupt practices, and all other standard commercial operating requirements.
- That to the best of our knowledge, all goods are produced in accordance to fair trade principles set forth below.
Fair prices are offered for the workers
Fair labor conditions and sustainable livelihood: Company workers must perform under safe working conditions and are provided living wages. Forced child labor under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited. In recognition of local standards for apprenticeship and part time work during schooling, workers under the age of 18 must be disclosed to Mayer & Watt with their job responsibilities, hours, compensation, and safety standards. All workers employed and contracted by company must be treated with full respect and dignity in accordance to the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability
To the best of our knowledge gemstones are produced with respect to the environment and its inhabitants. Natural resources are minimally impacted.
